Complete that circle.

Quoted in Solzhenitsyn’s Nobel Lecture in Literature 1970.

I’m amazed at the good things the world used to celebrate on its stages. Now it’s all corruption, violence, and decay. We fail to know justice and then celebrate injustice as justice. We use violence to manufacture unity. We treat freedom as permission to hate our wombs, our chastity, our self-defense, our work. Could we even stomach the Gulag Archipelago today? Is the Ukraine war a guise to ban the west from hearing insider warnings of Soviet Communism so we may quickly embrace it here?

Complete your circles. That is your mission.
